It all started on a Thursday night in 2023 with what was supposed to be a quick drink at Anchor Bar in Dallas. Three hours, some sushi, and lots of laughter later, we closed down the restaurant. Chris left thinking Lexi was special. Lexi left texting a friend, “I just met my husband.”

Our second date was a walk on the Katy Trail, where Chris met Sunny (Lexi’s goldendoodle) — who had been told to be on her best behavior because she “might be meeting her new dad.” Both Lexi and Chris really wanted this date to happen — Lexi canceled a family ski trip, Chris lied about having COVID — and honestly… we both still say it was worth it.

Since then, we’ve become best friends and adventure partners — from cooking nights at home and TCBY runs to concerts at Red Rocks, skiing in Crested Butte, and family trips to Alaska and Breckenridge.

Fast forward several months, and Chris proposed to Lexi at the Dallas Arboretum, in the same site where they are now set to be married. What started as one drink turned into forever.
